Transmetropolitan 1 cover Download the first issue of this great graphic novel / comic book series for free!

I already wrote something about this series within a post about free graphic nocvells from Artbomb, now here is a link to the first issue of Transmetropolitan, a 60 issue comic book series created by Warren Ellis. Transmetropolitan was published beetween 1997 and 2002 by Helix (issues 1-12) and Vertigo (issue 13+), both imprints of DCComics.

The main character of this science fiction comic is Spider Jerusalem, journalist and investigative reporter for the newspaper “The Word”. In this first issue, Spider retires from retirement (or exile …) and returns to a job he hates. The starting point of a epic future comic story about corruption, morals and politics with a huge amount of humor: “… Combining black humor, life-threatening situations, and moral ambiguity, this book is the first look into the mind of an outlaw journalist and the world he seeks to destroy.” [Source]

So, go on and download this issue for free from dccomics.com and have a look at the beginning of Transmetropolitan.
